This Sunday on the WWE Network, the Money in the Bank pay-per-view will take place. On the show, Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal will have their rematch for the WWE Championship. This comes about a month after Mahal won the championship by defeating Orton at Backlash. Orton and Mahal did not confront one another directly on last week’s show, but Mahal said that he was going to dismantle Orton’s dreams of winning back the title; Orton said that Mahal can run his mouth, but saying, “In two weeks at Money in the Bank, I don’t even need to say one word, and Jinder Mahal‘s gonna hear me just fine.” So tonight on SmackDown Live, Orton and Mahal will meet one-on-one for the final time before Sunday’s pay-per-view.
Also on SmackDown Live tonight, there will be a six man tag team match with Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura facing Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, and Kevin Ownes. These are the six-participants of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. So which team of three will gain the upper hand ahead of Money in the Bank on Sunday? And which of the six men will make a name for themselves before the ladder match opportunity?
Plus, last week on SmackDown Live, Lana finally made her return, demanding a match with Naomi. Shane McMahon told Lana that she would have to earn this title opportunity. Later in the show, though, Lana interfered in a match and attacked Naomi; Naomi was so angry that she demanded that Shane place her in a match with Lana, and Shane agreed. Naomi and Lana haven’t had an opportunity to speak since then, so presumably tonight on SmackDown Live, we’ll hear more from Lana ahead of her title opportunity.
Money in the Bank will also feature a match between The Usos and The New Day, and the men and women’s ladder matches. But that only brings us to five matches, and so it’s likely that at least one if not two more will be announced sometime in the next few days. So what other matches might be set up on tonight’s SmackDown Live? Could Breezango be given something to do, perhaps taking on The Colons? We’ll find out when SmackDown Live begins tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network.
