The Thursday night game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears has been temporarily postponed due to lightning near Lambeau Field.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and “few storms” moved across the northeastern Wisconsin area Thursday evening during the game.
Officials said the game would be delayed for at least 15 minutes until the storm and lightning passed through the area. Meteorologists projects the storm would be through the area by at least 8:31 p.m.
Play was halted at the end of the first quarter, and fans were urged to head to the exits as torrential rain and huge strikes of lightning made their way through the area. The Packers were up on the Bears, 14-0, in the game when officials called for the delay.
