Jennifer Larence and Darren Aronofsky are currently in a relationship.

Jennifer Lawrence is currently in a relationship with director Darren Aronofsky, and she has opened up about dating him in a new interview.

Lawrence told Vogue this week, “I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him.” She previously dated Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Aronofsky previously dated actress Rachel Weisz.

This interview was the first time that Lawrence has confirmed her relationship with Darren Aronofsky, having previously avoided questions about whether she currently has a boyfriend. However, the two have been dating for some time now.

So what information is out there about the relationship between Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky? Here’s what you need to know.

1. They Started Dating After Shooting the Movie ‘Mother!’

Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky started dating after working together on the upcoming film Mother!, which Aronofsky wrote and directed.

Mother! is a psychological horror film in which a young woman’s peaceful life with her husband (Javier Bardem) is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious couple (Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer). The movie was filmed last summer, with production starting in June 2016 and concluding in August 2016.

By August of last year, there were rumors that Lawrence and Aronofsky were dating. They were seen having lunch together in August, and PEOPLE reported that fall that they were “hanging out and are casually dating.”

In her new interview with Vogue, Lawrence confirmed that they started dating after filming Mother!, and so they have now been together for one year.

Describing how she felt about the director when they first met, Lawrence told Vogue, “We had energy. I had energy for him. I don’t know how he felt about me.”

Darren Aronofsky has a 11-year-old child, Henry Chance Aronofsky, from his previous relationship with actress Rachel Weisz. Although Aronofsky and Weisz got engaged in 2005, a year before the birth of their son, they never were married, and their relationship ended in 2010.

While speaking with Vogue, Lawrence said that Aronofsky is an “amazing father.”

In March, Lawrence was seen walking through New York City with Darren Aronofsky’s son Henry, according to The Daily Mail.

There is a 22-year age difference between Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky, as she is 26 and he is 48. A source told PEOPLE earlier this year that Lawrence “is comfortable with an older guy because she is mature and focused.”

Relationships can be difficult in Hollywood when both parties are always busy, but Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky make it work.

Lawrence and Aronofsky frequently visit each other while they’re working; according to Just Jared, Aronofsky visited Lawrence on the set of Red Sparrow in Budapest earlier this year, and Lawrence spends some of her time off with Aronofsky at his home in New York City.

According to PEOPLE, Lawrence and Aronofsky have been spotted on movie dates and strolls through New York City, though they generally like to keep a low profile.

“They are very sweet together and seem happy,” a source told PEOPLE. “They hold hands. They keep to themselves and don’t seem to want a lot of attention.”

Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky both share liberal political views, and this past November, they encouraged students to vote for Hillary Clinton.

According to PEOPLE, Aronofsky paid a visit to Duke University on November 8th and urged students to vote that day; he also evidently promised them they could speak with Jennifer Lawrence over FaceTime if they did so.

Jennifer Lawrence had already made her views on the 2016 election pretty clear by that point, telling Vogue in November 2015, “My view on the election is pretty cut-and-dried: If Donald Trump is president of the United States, it will be the end of the world. And he’s also the best thing to happen to the Democrats ever.”

They don’t agree on everything, though. Lawrence told Vogue that Aronofsky doesn’t understand her obsession with reality television.

“He just finds it so vastly disappointing,” she said.

Lawrence also told Vogue that she wasn’t sure she could date someone from Harvard “because they can’t go two minutes without mentioning that they went to Harvard. He’s not like that.”

Jennifer Lawrence has talked about the fact that she admires Darren Aronofsky as a director and finds him to be an incredible talent.

“When I saw [Mother!], I was reminded all over again how brilliant he is,” Lawrence told Vogue. “For the past year, I’ve been dealing with him as just a human.”

PEOPLE also reported that Lawrence liked being in a relationship with someone who is as devoted to his work as she is.

“Jen is a serious actress and being around another person in the business who is intense about what he does has been good for her,” a source told PEOPLE. “I don’t know how far it will go but as of now they are a really good match, two talented people who love their work and are respected for it.”

Lawrence previously told US Magazine that Aronofsky is a “visionary” and that she accepted the role in Mother! without even reading the script. It’s easy to understand why; Aronofsky is considered to be one of the best directors working today, as he is responsible for films like Black Swan, The Wrestler, The Fountain, and Requiem for a Dream. Mother! hits theaters on September 15th.
