After seeing her new campaign shot for Lancôme, it’s official—bright eyes with a vivid lip is going to become our new look come springtime. To front the brand’s new Grandiose mascara ($32; lancome-usa.com) and Color Design shadows, our beauty muse shows off a gorgeous purple eye, which was paired with a glossy red lip and a wash of sheer blush.

Fun fact: The palette being showcased in the ad and on Nyong’o’s lids was a collaboration between the star and her makeup artist Nick Barose. “I designed the color palette, and Lupita named it Jacaranda Bloom after the jacaranda tree’s gorgeous electric purple flowers,” he tells us. “It has three purple shades you can mix and match, and the navy-plum shade on the bottom is perfect for lining the eyes.”
If the colors look familiar to you, the palette is the same one he used to create her stunning Golden Globes look, proving its versatility on the red carpet and in real life. “If you have dark skin, the golden bronzy shade on top is the perfect highlighter color,” says Barose, who notes that the colors can be applied with a wet applicator for a more-pigmented payoff. “It doesn’t turn too light or frosty, the rich warm tone just brings light to the eyes.”
