Here’s everything that’s happened so far…

What happened to Michelle and Steve on Coronation Street?

The pair rushed to hospital and were left devastated to discover that she had gone into early labour after only 23 weeks of pregnancy.

She was then told she would have to give birth to the baby even though it wouldn’t survive.

The barmaid wept as she said:“I was meant to take care of him, I can’t give birth knowing he’s going to die. I can’t do it.”

As Michelle gave birth, she was surrounded by the sound of newborns crying as she lost her own – leaving husband Steve angry at the doctors and branding them ‘cruel’ for not letting her move.

After giving birth, Michelle begged for news of his possible survival – when the nurse told her the tragic news that he wasn’t breathing.

She then broken down completely with husband Steve, before cradling the tot in her arms for the first and last time.
